Learn How to Paint a Colorful Abstract Landscape from a Reference Photo | Acrylic Painting for Beginners

I just posted a new landscape painting class to Skillshare and Patreon! This class is a little longer and more in-depth than most of my other classes so I wanted to share it on both platforms.

Learn how to paint a colorful abstract landscape painting from a reference photo! This is a beginner friendly painting class! I start off with a color mixing demo. I show you how I mix green, gray, and brown paint colors that I regularly use in my landscape paintings. I also teach you why color bias is important to understand when mixing your own paint.

Next I’ll show you how I sketch in the big shapes that I see in my reference photo, and slowly build up layers and details.

**Golden paints can be expensive.  If you are looking for a good student grade acrylic you might try Liquitex Basics.  A good palette to start with would be Primary Red, Primary Yellow, Phthalo Blue, Light Blue Permanent, White, and Black.
