It can be really fun and relaxing to paint in your sketchbook for 20 minutes a day (plus you can learn a lot!).

In this class, we will create a series of “sweet treats” to practice our acrylic painting skills! When you don’t have a lot of time, creating a series of studies in your sketchbook is a fabulous way to practice the fundamentals of acrylic painting. Each study in this class is designed to take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete.

I like small studies because they build confidence, they can be done in a short amount of time, and you learn a lot from each one!

When you’re painting in a sketchbook, think of it as practice. Feel free to play around with color and values. Try new compositions and different paint brushes. If your painting didn’t work, try to figure out what went wrong, turn the page and start again!
