In this class I teach you how to paint large, loose flowers on canvas with acrylic paint. I show you how I mix my paint colors, how I sketch my composition onto my canvas, and add lots of layers to create large loose flowers on my canvas.

**Golden paints can be expensive.  If you are looking for a good student grade acrylic you might try Liquitex Basics.  A good palette to start with would be Primary Red, Primary Yellow, Phthalo Blue, Light Blue Permanent, White, and Black.

Create a simple sketch of your composition using basic geometric shapes.

Draw your sketch onto your canvas using pastels or acrylic paint.

Use acrylic paint to trace your flowers and leaves.

Choose your acrylic paint colors and block in your shapes on your canvas.

Start to add thin layers of acrylic paint.

Keep adding layers of paint until you are happy with your flowers!

Painting loose can be tough. Here are my best tips for success when painting loose and abstract!
1.  Paint with your non-dominant hand.
2.  Hold the paint brush at the very top.
3.  Don't ever try to paint within the lines!
